Terms and Conditions Of the Foundation Language Courses German School The Hague (DISDH)
1. General Information
1.1 Standard courses
The standard courses of the Foundation Language Courses take place at the German International School (DISDH) in The Hague from 7-9.30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. A course usually runs for 12 weeks per semester. Courses start in September and January respectively.
All information on our courses can be found in any one of our current programmes.
There are no lessons during the school holidays of the DISDH (see Course Dates).
1.2 Other Courses (Morning Courses, Summer Courses etc.)
The Foundation Language Courses in The Hague also offers morning courses and summer courses which differ from our standard courses. Information on these courses can be also found in any one of our current programmes.
1.3 Private Tuition and In-Company Courses
In addition to the regular group courses, the Foundation Language Courses also caters for private tuition as well as tailor-made language trainings and in-company courses.
On request the Foundation Language Courses will draft an individual tender for private tuition or tailor-made group courses. Before the start of a course the Foundation Language Courses German School needs to be presented with the customer’s written consent concerning the content and conditions of the tender.
2. Level Testing
2.1 The teachers of the Foundation Language Courses put participants in the course suitable for their language level. There will be an information and registration evening each term on which intermediate and advanced students are offered level testing to establish their language levels.
2.2 In case of insufficient demand, the Foundation Language Courses German School reserves the right to combine courses where necessary according to the level of the participants.
3. Exams
3.1 The German and Dutch courses follow the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and prepare participants for the respective exams, which can be sat externally.
3.2 At the end of a course all participants receive a certificate of participation.
4. Registration
4.1 Registration for a language course with the Foundation Language Courses is binding and the course fee is due for payment.
4.2 After registration the participant will receive an invoice stating the course fee and the date for payment.
5. Prices, Conditions of payment
5.1 The course fees are all updated on our website and are applicable respectively at the time of registration as part of the agreement made between the course participant and the Foundation Language Courses German School The Hague.
5.2 On presentation of a valid student card, students are granted a discount of 10% on the course fee. Discounts apply for our standard courses only.
5.3 The full course fee falls due on the date for payment stated in the invoice; at the latest it needs to be credited to the account of the Foundation Language Courses on the first day of a course as stated in the relevant course programme.
5.4 In case the full course fee has not been received in good time, the participant loses their claim to take part in the course previously booked with the Foundation Language Courses.
5.5 Course materials are not included in the course fees. Course materials can be purchased through us at our registration evening. The costs for course books are listed in any one of our current programmes.
6. Refunds, Cancellation
6.1 Course fees are refunded if and only if the Foundation Language Courses German School The Hague cancels a course due to insufficient registration. In this case, the course fee will be refunded within 14 days.
6.2 Cancellation of a registration needs to be communicated to the Foundation Language Courses in writing. The time and date of receipt of your cancellation at the postal or email address mentioned on our website is decisive for the time of your cancellation.
6.3 In the case of cancellation of a course after the time to consider the enrollment has elapsed (see 6.4) the following conditions apply:
Cancellation up to 7 days before the start of a course: €50,00 administration fee
Cancellation within 1 week before the start of a course: 50% of the course fee
Cancellation as of the first day of a course: 100% of the course fee
The full course fee due at cancellation as of the first day of a course is valid for the respective term only and cannot be transferred to the following term.
6.4 Beginning with the date of your registration, you are allowed a period of 14 days to consider your registration. This period ends with the first day of a course, even if the time between your registration and the first day of a course is shorter than 14 days. If you wish to cancel your registration within the above-mentioned consideration period, the Foundation Language Courses German School in The Hague needs to be informed about this in writing. After the time to consider your registration has elapsed, your registration is binding.
6.5 Missed lessons are not refunded (Exception in case of illness, see 6.6).
6.6 If a participant cannot continue with a course on health grounds, the course participant must provide a medical certificate to prove inability to participate. In this case refunding of non-attended hours is possible, but only in the first half of the course. An administration fee of 50,00 € shall, however, be retained.
7. Liability
7.1 The liability of the Foundation Language Courses German School The Hague and their staff is limited to wrongful intent and gross negligence.
7.2 The Foundation Language Courses German School The Hague shall not be held liable for the inability to provide their services due to force majeure (e.g. major disasters, fire, flooding, official directives and all other circumstances beyond the control of Foundation Language Courses German School The Hague).
8. Complaints
8.1 In case you have any complaints, please send an email to one of the Heads of the Foundation Language Courses:

8.2 Complaints are investigated within two weeks and dealt with within four weeks. Should it not be possible
to deal with the complaint within this period, an indication of the expected timeframe will be given within 4
weeks, stating the reason.
8.3 Should a complaint not be resolved satisfactorily, the participant can submit their complaint to the School Association of the German International School The Hague via the Managing Director: GF@disdh.nl.
8.4 The decision of the independent third party is binding for the Foundation Language Courses and has to be presented within a period of 4 weeks. Should it not be possible to deal with a complaint within the said period of time, you shall be informed respectively. Possible consequences resulting from the decision of the independent third party shall be dealt with swiftly.
8.5 Complaints and the measures taken to resolve them shall be registered by the Foundation Language Courses and kept for the duration of two years.
9. Protection of personal data
9.1 All information and data on course participants shall be dealt with confidentially according to the current General Data Protection Regelation (GDPR). Personal data will not be passed on to any third party.
Personal data will be saved and used for administrative purposes and issues related to the language course (e.g. sending homework via email) only. In addition, email-addresses will be used to inform participants about the current course programs. Participants can object to the use of their email-addresses for these information purposes by sending an email to: info@stiftungsprachkurse.nl.
9.2 Stored data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes, unless their storage is foreseen by any legal obligations.
